Free UX Audit Tool

Run a free, AI-written UX audit on any public web page. Enter a URL and the tool fetches the page, captures an above-the-fold screenshot, and reviews both against seven areas: first impression and messaging, navigation and flow, copy, QA and technical bugs, trust and credibility, conversion psychology, and pricing or checkout. You get a short executive summary plus issues and recommendations for each area, including suggested copy rewrites shown next to the original line. Use it when you want a quick qualitative second opinion on a landing page, product page, or pricing page before committing to a redesign or a test, or when you need a list of specific friction points to hand to a designer or developer. The result is prose, not a number: for a scored report, run the full free audit.

Worked example

Illustrative example only. Suppose you submit the pricing page of a fictional project-management SaaS. The audit might come back with a summary such as: "The page leads with feature names rather than outcomes, the primary CTA sits below the plan table on mobile, and there is no visible refund policy near the purchase step." The tabs would then break that down. First Impression: the headline "Powerful project tools" does not say who it is for or what changes. Navigation: three plans use different CTA labels, so the next step is unclear. Messaging: a rewrite suggestion pairs the original "Get started today!" with something outcome-led. Trust: no contact details or terms link in the footer. Pricing: annual and monthly toggles reset when you switch tabs. Each item is a concrete edit you can action or turn into a test hypothesis.

How it works

This tool does not produce a numeric score, so there is no formula to explain. What it does is a structured qualitative review. First, a headless browser loads the URL and extracts the visible page content, together with a desktop screenshot of the first viewport (falling back to the mobile screenshot if the desktop capture is unavailable). Without a screenshot, the text alone is reviewed. Second, that content and image are sent to an AI model with a fixed audit brief. The brief asks the model to act as a UX strategist, copywriter, and QA tester, and to work through seven headings in order: whether the value proposition is clear within a few seconds and the CTA is above the fold; whether the layout is skimmable with no dead ends; where copy is vague and how to rewrite it; broken links, buttons, responsiveness or overlap bugs; visible trust signals such as policies, contact details and reviews; missing psychological levers such as social proof, guarantees and risk-reversal; and friction in the pricing and checkout flow. The model must answer as a JSON object with issues and recommendations under each heading and a two-to-three sentence summary, which is exactly what the page renders. Because the output is generated from a single page load and one screenshot, treat findings as informed hypotheses rather than measured facts. Verify any reported bug in a browser before assigning it, and use the full free audit when you need scored, pillar-by-pillar prioritisation. Guests can run a limited number of audits per day and receive the result by email.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the free UX audit tool actually check?

It reviews one page across seven areas: first impression and messaging, navigation and flow, copy, QA and technical bugs, trust and credibility, conversion psychology, and pricing or checkout. Each area returns a list of issues and recommendations, and the copy section pairs weak lines with suggested rewrites.

Does the UX audit give my page a score?

No. The output is qualitative: an executive summary plus issues and fixes under each heading. If you want a scored, pillar-by-pillar report with a prioritised fix roadmap, run the full free CRO audit instead.

How does the tool see my page?

A headless browser loads the URL, extracts the visible content, and captures an above-the-fold screenshot. Both the text and the screenshot are passed to an AI model with a fixed audit brief, so the review is based on what a first-time visitor would actually see on load.

Why do I need to enter my email?

Guests need to provide an email so the result can be sent to them and to keep the free tool from being abused. Guest audits are rate limited per day; logged-in users can run the audit without entering an email.

Can I audit a page behind a login or a staging site?

Only publicly reachable URLs work, because the tool has to load the page in a headless browser without credentials. Pages that block bots, require authentication, or return an error page will fail or produce an audit of the wrong content.

How reliable are the reported bugs?

Treat them as hypotheses. The audit is generated from a single page load and one screenshot, so it can flag something that is fine or miss something that only appears after interaction. Confirm each reported bug in a browser before assigning it to a developer.
